Whistler

Whistler’s Mountain Bike is considered by many to be THE premiere mountain bike park, and the famous North Shore of Vancouver is only a short drive away. Add to that the fact that Squamish, well-known for its quality bouldering, is right next to Whistler and you’ve got the recipe for a mandatory road-trip.
We drove all the way from San Diego, stopped to visit Mike and Adina (Judy’s cousin) and their Golden Retrievers, Ruby and Max, in Vancouver, WA, and then did a short bike ride just outside of Seattle. From there, it was on to the North Shore, where an “intermediate” trail provided plenty of challenge.
Whistler’s Mountain Bike Park lived up to its reputation (receiving Ryan’s rare “Excellent!” rating), Squamish’s hard problem ratings humbled us, Judy auditioned for the Whistler Circus, and we fine-tuned our tight-rope walking skills at Pemberton. All in all, a fantastic trip with some classic pics and movies.
The only downside is that many of the pics came out blurry (back in 2004, optical image stabilization had not become a standard feature on cameras), and it unfortunately appears that Google heavily compresses videos and thus the videos are not nearly as clear as the original files. :-( Anyhow, here they are.
