The Canyons
Originally posted to RohJuh.com on Mar 26, 2006. Judy and I decided to do a last minute trip to Utah for one last weekend of snowboarding for the season. Since we always go to Powder Mountain and Snowbasin, we decided to stay in Salt Lake City this time and try out some new resorts. The plan was to fly in Friday night, hit The Canyons on Saturday, go to either Solitude or Brighton on Sunday, and then fly back home Sunday night. Saturday turned out to be unseasonably warm – it hit 70F in Salt Lake and was somewhere in the 50s on the mountain. Definitely spring-skiing conditions. The Canyons resort is pretty cool. From the main parking lot, you take a lift to the base of the mountain, going over a bunch of multi-million dollar condos and townhouses. The resort itself is huge! We started out on the right side (looking up the mountain) and actually didn’t even make it to the far left side.
