The Consumer Design Group, which Paul led, got together to create a really cool plaque which we presented to Paul on his last day. Originally posted to RohJuh.com on Jun 23, 2008. Since last year, Judy and I have been playing regularly in Phil Kaplan’s No Attitudes sand volleyball tournaments. This past Saturday, we played in the tournament with new partners for the first time. Judy paired up with Dave while I paired up with Bonnie. Unfortunately, Dave cramped up midway through the tourney and although they were doing very well, they had to forfeit. Bonnie and I ended up winning the Tidepool and so had our pictures taken. After Phil posted the pics on his site, Judy called me up while giggling uncontrollably. If you look closely at the left side of the pic, you’ll see that Judy was able to sneak herself into the photo. Pretty funny. What’s funnier is that while we were laughing at Judy’s stealthiness, I noticed that both Bonnie and I have rabbit ears. No, we’re not buying a place; we’re continuing to rent. To think that the largest asset bubble in modern history has finished deflating is wishful thinking IMO. House prices remain fundamentally disconnected from people’s ability to afford them, and even with the recent price declines, renting remains more financially prudent than buying. But I digress… Anyhoo, we’ve been looking for a while, but it was difficult finding a place that met all of our requirements: desirable location (which is defined by Judy to mean Palo Alto), nice (obviously subjective, but for us, it just means either relatively new or fairly recently remodeled), 2-3 bedrooms (preferably 3), have a garage, have a yard (for Latte), and most importantly, allows pets.
