Redpoint Engineering Website

Originally posted to RohJuh.com on Mar 27, 2002. This is a website concept I created for Redpoint Engineering. It is more of a preliminary, rough-cut rather than a finished product. Only a few of the pages are present (not all the links work), and even those are not “true” web pages, but instead just a bunch of sliced gif’s. Despite the incompleteness, what exists is enough to provide a good feel for what the finished product would be like. The “look and feel” of the website is intact as well as some of the key pages, but quite a bit more work would have been involved to finish the site to the point of being presentable to the world. I think the look and feel of the site is very unique and is very fitting for a mechanical engineering services firm. I particularly like the splash page – it’s pretty cool! I suppose I could have made the splash animation using Flash instead of an animated gif, but at that point in time, I didn’t have the tools to do so. Even without Flash, however,...

Originally posted to RohJuh.com on Mar 8, 2002. Everybody loves the new RohJuh.com. Well, almost everybody. Here's a sampling of people's responses to the question: "What do you think of the new RohJuh.com website featuring the Aqua interface?" [Note: RohJuh.com is not responsible for the veracity of the following statements and makes no claims as to their authenticity.] Listed in alphabetical order by last name. I now look forward to getting up every morning!" - B. Beattie , Carlsbad, CA. "Whilst I purs...

Version 2 was introduced on March 07, 2002 sporting the fresh and new Aqua look. Clearly inspired by Apple’s Mac OS X, the site looked much more polished and refined than the previous release. Why Do It? So why spend the time (and believe me, it was a LOT of time) to design a Version 2 when Version 1 was working fine? Although I was fairly happy with the Version 1 site right after it was completed, as time went on I began to find it more and more, well, cheap looking. I felt that I could make it look much more polished and refined. In addition, there were certain elements of the site that I didn’t like. For example, the Home page was always static – it simply had a little "Welcome" message on it that never changed. The What’s New? section ha...
